"Our story began with a royal gift—and continues every day through the hands and hearts of our                               elephant caretakers."

Our Story

A simple journey shaped by care, heritage, and respect.

A royal beginning

A Gift from the Jaipur King

Our journey began with a remarkable retirement gift from the Jaipur royal family—a profound honor that instantly transformed into a lifelong responsibility. Today, as dedicated elephant caretakers, we carry this royal legacy forward. Every day is a commitment to providing these gentle giants with a sanctuary built entirely on deep respect, daily devotion, and ethical care.

Built by Elephant Caretakers

Elephant Village Jaipur is proudly run by traditional elephant caretakers (mahouts). Having spent generations alongside these gentle giants, our caretakers intimately understand each elephant’s unique habits, moods, and daily needs. This deep, lifelong bond ensures that every animal receives personalized, attentive care, creating a truly authentic and respectful sanctuary environment.

Today

A Calm, Respectful Experience

We welcome visitors who want to connect with elephants in a peaceful way—guided by care, safety, and respect for the animal. At Elephant Village Jaipur, your presence does more than create memories; it actively supports our community. Every experience helps fund healthy meals for our elephants and provides vital, stable support for their dedicated caretaker families.

Every Visit Helps Elephants & Their Caretakers

When you book an experience at Elephant Village Jaipur, your contribution directly supports elephant wellbeing—healthy food, clean water, daily hygiene, and comfort-focused routines.

It also helps strengthen the lives of needy elephant caretakers who dedicate their days to these gentle giants—supporting fair work, essential needs, and long-term growth for caretaker families.

We believe ethical tourism should create a positive circle: better care for elephants, and better stability for the people who protect them.
